Taking the High Road

11 Jun

THough they had been ordered to remain in Razor hill, to wait for the next caravan . Fierced and Makumba made their escape from the prison camp that Razor Hill  was starting to become..though she longed to tear into the orcs, Fierced bided  her time, and played the meek ,and docile female troll  they wanted her to be. The act was so convincing that she even had Makumba convinced for a few moments until he tried his luck again at wooing the druidess..and was promptly cuffed by her ,much to the great amusement of the orcs.

With their mocking laughter ringing in his ears ,he slunk to the shade ,his pride stung by the stubborn minx, his cheek still smarting from the resounding slap she gave him. He had to admit, for a female ,she had a pretty good arm.. that one actually hurt. Whistling to his raptor Vasha, who sensing his morose mood, cooed and headbutted him, trying to cheer him up.Rubbing the scaly head behind her scaly eye ridges, the troll hunter, watched his fingers sent the little female raptor into paroxyms of joy; her cunning yellow eyes closing in pleasure, laughing as she forcefully demanded more when he stopped.
” Aye ken always count on ya to watch meh back, can’t I ,love?” he crooned to the little raptor,as his fingers continued to scratch the spot,as she gave him a gentle rub on his face with her muzzle . Vasha had been the runt of the litter, they didn’t think her egg would hatch at all, being as small as it was but Makumba sensed something was special ,and took the egg, caring for it, and keeping it warm. When it hatched much to the amazement of the handlers, the little raptor creeled imperiously at Makumba, his image and scent imprinting itself upon the tiny creature. With his constant care, she grew fast but the hard fact was, she would never catch up to her littermates in size ,but she was fast ,and she was clever… which more than made up for her lack of size.

It wasn’t until the coolness and the cover of dark ,that he felt a nudge  on his shoulder, and a hissed whisper ” Come on.. we need to make a break for it while the guards are occupied.. we can slip out while they are  changing guards..hurry, we don’t have a lot of time ”

She didn’t have to tell him twice.. he was up ,and like a shadow they crept out of the small village while the guards were otherwise occupied.. they wouldn’t be missed until morning but by that time they should be well on their way to Ratchet..they couldn’t stay in Kalimdor .They would have to take a boat to Booty Bay then make their way North. At one time, Makumba would have leapt for joy, that he was travelling with Fierced but now was not the time. Their lives depended on them being silent, and staying out of sight, and off the main road. They would rest during the day,and travel at night; less traffic that way and less chance of them getting caught by the Kor’kron.

Oh, it sounds like these two are going to set off on some great adventures together – even if the poor fellow is enamored of his druidess, he will learn in time that she’s the stronger of the two about some things. Love the little raptor, by the way.

LOL, well Makumba is not really used to dealing with strong women.. he’s more used to the helpless swooning females that he normally associates with. Fierced is an enigma to him, but like a moth to a flame he is drawn to her, because she is unique, and she doesn’t put up with anyone’s bs.
Vasha is a little darling, she’s Makumba’s baby, and so he spoils her shamelessly.
